If your roof is completely flat, it is strongly recommended to install panels at an angle of at least 10 °. This is very important because it allows rainwater to flow down the module. If rainwater accumulates on the surface of the solar panel, it is more likely to eventually pass through the seal of the panel and enter the solar cell itself. If this happens, the panel will fail and you will need to replace the module. The warranty condition for many panels is that they must be installed at least 10 ° from the horizontal, otherwise the warranty may be invalidated.


Don't listen to anyone saying that solar panels can be placed horizontally. Just add one or two panels to make up for the loss of efficiency. Horizontal panels have little self-cleaning ability in the rain, so you need to clean them manually more often.


Tilting the frame on a flat roof is a good idea. However, sometimes installers will propose inclined frames for roofs with small spacing to increase the angle of panels and obtain more energy. If you really want to lay these panels flat, there is an option: Frameless panel. These are panels without aluminum frames. This means that there are no ridges around the panel to collect dirt and water. However, the cost of frameless panel is high.


For these reasons, if you have a flat roof, most good installers will add the inclined frame option to their quotation.


Does the tilt angle really matter? Answer: Yes.


The tilt of solar panels will affect the power they produce, because the tilt will affect the sunlight you capture. Consider a flat solar panel on the ground, with a width of 1m. When the sun is in the middle of the sky (for example, at noon in summer), that solar panel will completely capture the 1-meter-wide solar optical axis: now, if the sun is at an angle of 30 ° to the horizontal, the same 1-meter-wide optical axis will actually expand more than 2 meters when hitting the ground: in this example, the flat solar panel will get only half the sunlight, Therefore, it produces half the energy compared with the sun directly overhead. Of course, the solution in this example is to tilt the panel 60 ° to capture all sunlight:


In the support of the solar equipment installation system on the plane roof, multiple groups of supports are arranged horizontally to jointly support the supporting parts. The spacing between the two adjacent groups of supports is not all equal, so that the support has better wind resistance. The distance from the lowest part of the solar panel to the flat roof shall be greater than 600mm. The combiner box and inverter are covered by the higher part when the solar panel is placed obliquely. The bottom plate at the bottom of the support rod is fixed with the base by U-bolts embedded in the base. The end of the support rod is provided with an elliptical hole for fine-tuning the height. The base is 500mm long, 500mm wide, 250mm high and weighs 150 ~ 160kg. The solar panel is rectangular, and the junction box on the back of the solar panel is located near one of the short sides of the rectangle. The placement mode of the solar panel is that the short side of the rectangle is parallel to the arrangement direction of multiple groups of supports, and the short side close to the junction box is higher than the other short side.
