About LG and NeON 2 Technology
LG embarked on a solar energy source research program in 1985. This research leading to modern LG solar panel technology was supported by LG Group's rich experience in the semi-conductor, LCD, chemistry and materials industry. Cello technology used in the LG NeON 2 LG330N1C-A5 solar panel has 12 wires instead of 3 ribbons. This reduces electrical loss by increasing the number of electrical paths in the cell. In addition, the distance between wires is shortened for greater power output and improved aesthetics.
Newly Developed Cello Technology™
LG has introduced newly developed Cello Technology™ used in the NeON 2 solar panels (Cell connection with Electrically Low loss, Low stress and Optical absorption enhancement)’ which increases power output and improves reliability.
Cello helps reduce power generation loss by reducing imperfections over time. When a micro crack or finger electrode erosion occurs naturally by mechanisms in the outskirts of the solar cell, the tight layout of wires featured in LG NeON™ 2 Cello technology prevents power reduction from the otherwise blocked electrical path. Cello Technology also improves the absorption of light with circular-shaped wires that scatter light energy more effectively.
Extremely Low LID Cells
The boron (B) and oxygen (O) pair within the p-type cell removes the electrons removes to generate energy. But inside the LG NeON™ 2, there are almost no B-O pairs, eliminating Light Induced Degradation (LID).
Higher Efficiency Installation Savings
Compared to a conventional multi module with 72 cells, LG NeON 2 achieves higher power output with 60 cells, making it easy to manage space when installing large scale systems. Also, with lower Voc than the 72 Cell module, LG NeON 2 increases module quantity per ‘1 string’ decreasing the total number of strings and leading to lower costs.
Enhanced Physical Durability
With its newly reinforced frame design, LG NeON 2 modules are designed to endure a front load up to 6000 Pa, and a rear load up to 5400 Pa.
